Framed in an old wood frame with glass.
Fixed to card with double-sided tape with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in fine wool on linen ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.
Meandering strawberry border.
Colours reds, greens, pale blue, black, lilac and pinks.
Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-18.
Signed and dated
'Sarah Thackeray 1793'.
A few motifs including hearts,
fruit baskets,
blossoming trees,

CONDITION: Generally Good.
No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground.
Some stitch losses to the border,

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
