
George II, dated 1731. 17.25ins by 8ins wide. 1731 Band Sampler by Rebekah Parsons. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.
Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in a silk-like thread on linen ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.
No border, divider lines in various patterns.
Colours pale blue, pink, greens and gold. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case.

CONDITION: Good. Three small holes and slight pulling to the ground at the top of the sampler.
Two patchy stains and uniform age darkening of backing canvas.
Minor stitch losses to letters of the alphabets, divider lines and verse.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
