1835 Band Sampler by Keren Paul

William IV, dated 1835. 27.5ins high by 7.5ins wide.

1835 Band Sampler by Keren Paul. Framed in a modern wood frame with glass.

Glued around edges to card, with cardboard backing.

The sampler is worked in cotton on canvas ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye.

Divider lines in various patterns.

Colours cream, red, light brown, green and blue. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-12.

Signed and dated 'KEREN PAUL OCTOBER 10th 1835'.

A few motifs including dogs and crowns.

CONDITION: Generally good. No holes, some pulling to the ground.

A few pale stain specks.

Some stitch losses to letters of the alphabets and motifs,

there are also a couple of loose threads.

Colours are faded. No colour run. Unevenly stretched.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
