1843 Alphabets Sampler by Annette Warrington

Victorian, dated 1843. 13.5ins by 12.75ins wide. 1843 Sampler by Annette Warrington. Framed in an old, possibly original, Hogarth frame with rippled, old glass.

Fixed to board with wood and brown paper backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.

Meandering strawberry border.

Divider lines in various patterns.

Colours green, light brown, gold, pale blue and cream.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-29.

Signed and dated

'Annette Warrington. Aged Nine Yrs 1843'.

CONDITION: Good.

A few small holes.

One repair around the letter 'L'.

A few loose threads.

Very minor stitch lossto the number '22'.

No colour run.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
