Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linenor ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.
No border, divider lines in various patterns.
Colours green, cream, red, yellow, green, dark brown, copper, gold, purple, black and blue. Alphabets A-Z in upper case.

This version of the Ten Commandments was writted by the English Hymnwriter Isaac Watts (1674 - 1748).
Signed and dated 'Martha Fay her sampler meade in the year of our lord 1748'.
A few motifs including a dovecote, potted flowering plants,
hearts, dogs and birds.
CONDITION: Generally good. No holes. Stitch losses to the verse,
alphabet,
motifs and date.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined. No colour run.
Unevenly stretched.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
