Majolica lily pad and heron compote

Victorian, circa 1880. 6.3ins high, 10ins wide, 10ins depth. Majolica compote which features lily leaves and a flower, with a heron stood in front of reeds/bulrushes to the base.





Colouration: green, white, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Three short, tight hairlines to rim.







Hairlines with associated flake to heron's neck.



Small chip to lower base edge.



Flaking to heron's leg and tip of tail feathers.





Slight wear around the rim.







Some wear to the top and upper base.







RESTORATION: remodelled section to rim;



retouching to centre flower.
