Minton Majolica turquoise 6 well oyster plate
Victorian, circa 1878. 9.1ins high, 9.1ins wide, 0.9ins depth. Minton Majolica oyster plate which features six shell shaped wells with seashell surrounds.
Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 16/11/1867.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1878.
Condition
CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Small flake to the rim.
KILN EFFECT: tiny glaze pops to the brown enamel on the rim;
small firing pits to shells.
