JRL Majolica Begonia leaf pot & cover
Victorian, circa 1880. 5.1ins high, 6.7ins wide, 6.7ins depth. J.R.L. Majolica pot and cover which features overlapping begonia leaves.
Colouration: green, brown, violet, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the J.R.L. pottery.
Condition
CONDITION: Pot: Generally good.
Some small flakes around the rim.
Slight wear to interior.
RESTORATION. Three filled chips to stand rim.
Cover: Generally good. No restoration.
Bruise to rim.
Two small flakes to rim.
Slight wear to handle.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to exterior;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to exterior.
