Minton Majolica turquoise 6 well oyster plate
Victorian, circa 1879. 9.1ins high, 9.1ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Minton Majolica oyster plate which features six shell shaped wells with seashell surrounds. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 05/04/1872.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1879.
Condition
CONDITION: Good. Light scratches from use.
KILN EFFECT: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to one of the shells.
RESTORATION: Filled chip to rim.
