Pair Rare Landais Majolica Palissy fish platters
Victorian, circa 1890. Tallest is 10.2ins high, 13.4ins wide, 1.8ins depth. Pair of Landais French Palissy Majolica wall plates which feature fish, an eel, crab and shells.
Colouration: blue, cream, light brown, are predominant.
Condition
CONDITION: Plate 1: Good. Chip with associated bruise to the rim.
Chip to floral rim border.
Some flakes to the rim, to two fishes scales, and one to the floral rim border.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim.
Large fish's tail has filled crack.
Plate 2: Generally good. Flake to floral rim border.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the rim.
RESTORATION. Two stabilised and retouched cracks to rim.
Filled chip to fish's head.
