Wedgwood majolica fish plate
Victorian, circa 1879. 8.7ins high, 8.7ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica plate which features fish on fern fronds and reeds. Cream ground version. Colouration: cream, green, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1879.
Condition
CONDITION: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to the rim;
uneven glaze application to the rim;
piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the interior.
