Majolica Wild Boar wall plaque/holder

Victorian, circa 1890. 7.5ins high, 6.5ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Majolica wall plaque which features a wild boar head.



The entire piece is made of ceramic. Of which, the shield shaped wall mount is covered in wild boar hair.



There are holes to the top of the piece for holding something.



Colouration: brown, puce, cream, are predominant.






Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Some hair to the reverse has been worn away.







RESTORATION. Filled chip to left ear.





Retouched flakes to hair between ears,



nose



and tusks.
