Pair Holdcroft Majolica wren trumpet vases
Victorian, circa 1870. Tallest is 12.8ins high, 7ins wide, 7ins depth. Pair of Holdcroft Majolica vases which feature a small bird (a wren), butterfly, white flowers and green leaves.
Cobalt blue ground version.
Colouration: cobalt blue, ochre, turquoise, are predominant.

Condition
CONDITION: Vase 1: Very good.
Small flake to bird's tail.
KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to the interior and exterior;
glaze miss to one small leaf and behind wren's tail.
RESTORATION: Retouched flake to base rim.
Retouched flake to tip of flower bud.
Filled chip to bird's beak.
Vase 2: Very good.
KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to the interior and exterior;
shallow firing crack to the bird's leg.
RESTORATION: Remodelled butterfly wing.
