Small Cunha Majolica Palissy butterfly & snake vase
Victorian, circa 1890. 4.5ins high, 3.5ins wide, 3ins depth. Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica vase which features
snake handles and applied butterflies.
Colouration: brown, green, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.
Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. No restoration.
Flake to underside.
Flakes to rim,
butterflies
and exterior.
KILN EFFECTS: stilt marks to the underside with associated chips;
glaze miss to the rim;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior.
