Pair Lonitz Majolica partridge & chicks cache pots and stands
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 15ins high, 8.3ins wide, 6.7ins depth. Pair of Lonitz Majolica cache pot and stands which feature a partridge and two chicks and two partridges in front of an oak tree.
Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Lonitz pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1204 & 1203'.
Condition
CONDITION: Stand 1: Generally good.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze.
RESTORATION. Remodelled two acorn leaves.
Filled chips and retouched flakes to acorn leaves
and spiky leaves.
Filled chip to each chick's beak.
Section of base and chick's legs reglued and join retouched.
Stand 2: Generally good.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to wing of standing partridge.
Filled chips to acorn
and spiky leaves.
Retouched flakes to beak on standing partridge
and to ground and curly leaves.
Pots: Very good.
RESTORATION. Are recent remakes of the original pots.
