Majolica Palissy man riding turkey toothpick holder

Circa 1890. 5.2ins high, 3.2ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Palissy Majolica toothpick holder which features a small man playing a pipe, sitting on top of a turkey.





Colouration: brown, green, cream, are predominant.

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: small shrinkage crack to lower base edge;



some flecks of stray coloured glaze;





glaze run to the brown glazes;





kiln detritus caught in the glaze to underside of turkey.
