Angelico Majolica Palissy mouse on corn toothpick holder

Circa 1890. 4.6ins high, 3.3ins wide, 2.9ins depth. Angelico Portuguese Palissy Majolica toothpick holder which features a mouse resting on a head of corn.






Colouration: ochre, green, brown, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Angelico pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to lower base edge, corn, one ear and leaf edge.









KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the ground;



over glazed bruise to edge of leaf;



glaze run to the green glazes.
