Large Minton Majolica Lion mask jardiniére
Victorian, circa 1870. 17.2ins high, 19.3ins wide, 19.3ins depth. Minton Majolica jardinière which features lion mask handles and lion paw feet.
Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, ochre, pink, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1023'.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. Some flakes to the under rim.
Flake to one lion's nose.
Some wear to interior.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze run and uneven glaze application to turquoise ground;
glaze pops to turquoise ground.
RESTORATION: five of the six feet are reglued with joins retouched;
filled chips to underside of one foot,
two of the rings and one lion's nose.
