Lonitz Majolica partridge & chicks cache pot and stand

Victorian, circa 1880. 15.6ins high, 7.9ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Lonitz Majolica cache pot and stand which features a partridge and two chicks in front of an oak tree.



Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.















The piece bears maker's marks for the Lonitz pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '1203'.


Condition

CONDITION: Stand: Generally good.

Small flake to leaf at front.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze.







RESTORATION. Filled chips and retouched flakes to acorn leaves.





Filled chip to one spiky leaf



and beak to lower chick.





Retouched flake to partridge's beak.





Pot: Generally good;

glaze run to the green glaze.





RESTORATION. Remodelled section of rim.





Stabilised and retouched cracks to the body.
