Mafra Majolica Palissy Beetle & Moth wall plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 4.7ins high, 4.7ins wide, 2ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a beetle,
moth and grub.

Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Some small flakes to ground.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage lines to the moth's wings.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to horn on beetle,

antennae on grub

and to rim.

Retouched flakes to ground.
