Victorian, circa 1900. 15.2ins high, 15.2ins wide, 3ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall charger
which features fish, an eel, a lizard, frog and insects.
Colouration: cream, grey, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.
Condition
CONDITION: Good.
Small flake to frog's nose and eye
and one of the beetle's leg.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground.
RESTORATION. Remodelled lizard's head
and right hind leg.
