Victorian, circa 1890. 15.4ins high, 15ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall charger which features a lizard, two snakes, a frog, beetle and moths.
Colouration: brown, green, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.
Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the ground;
glaze run to the brown glaze.
RESTORATION. Lizard's head and snake's head reglued and joins retouched.
