Majolica Palissy Butterfly or Moth Wall Pocket

Victorian, circa 1890. 6.5ins high, 8.3ins wide, 1.8ins depth. Palissy Majolica wall pocket which features a butterfly (or perhaps a moth).

Colouration: green, brown, red, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

KILN EFFECTS: slight staining to craze lines to one side;

a speck of kiln grit caught in the glaze to one wing.

RESTORATION: remodelled antennae;

retouched flakes to rim,

reverse

and edge of wings.
