Cuhna Palissy Majolica fish & eel plate
Victorian, circa 1890. 9.8ins high, 9.8ins wide, 3ins depth. Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features
five fish and an eel.
Colouration: brown, green, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.
Condition
CONDITION: Good.
Some small flakes to shredded clay.
Tiny flakes to eel's back
and two fish's mouths.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the fish.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to under rim.
Retouched flakes to rim.
