Large Holdcroft Majolica oriental boy on coconut teapot

Victorian, circa 1875. 6.9ins high, 9.6ins wide, 5.7ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica teapot which features
an oriental boy climbing onto a coconut.



Colouration: brown, cobalt blue, green, are predominant.

CONDITION: Cover: Generally good.

KILN EFFECTS: small firing pits to his head and ground.





RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack running all the way across.





Stabilised hairline to his chin and mouth.



Filled chips to rim.







Teapot: Generally good.

Some small abrasions to blue jacket.





KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the cobalt blue glaze;





uneven glaze application to the ground.







RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to bottom of handle.



Filled chips to inner rim.







Retouched flakes to spout





and shoes.
