Minton Majolica bullfinch nut dish (Wilbraham tray)

Victorian, circa 1870. 3.5ins high, 7.9ins wide, 4.2ins depth. Minton Majolica nut dish which features a bullfinch
perched on an oak branch.



Colouration: green, grey, dark pink, are predominant.













The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

A few small flakes to rim.







Small bruise to rim.



KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the interior;



glaze pooling in leaf.



RESTORATION: Section of leaf rim reglued and join retouched.





Tip of bird's tail reglued and join retouched.





Retouched flake to bird's right wing tip.





Filled under rim chip to leaf.
