Victorian, circa 1870. 2.4ins high, 9.4ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Brown Westhead Moore & Co Majolica inkwell which features a walnut on a large leaf.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Brown Westhead Moore & Co pottery. Bears a pattern number, '469'.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. Hairline to rim of liner.
Some small flakes to handle.
Metal fitting around walnut has split next the hinge, leaving it loose, but still functional.
KILN EFFECTS: over glazed shrinkage line to the rim of leaf;
staining to the liner.
RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim of liner.
