Watcombe Majolica mice & egg posy holder

Victorian, circa 1880. 3ins high, 4.3ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Watcombe Majolica posy holder which features two mice supporting an egg shell. Colouration: brown, green, cream, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Watcombe pottery.

CONDITION: Good. Bruise to rim of egg.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to base edge and underside;





glaze run to the brown enamel;





small firing hole to face of one mouse;



crazing to egg.





RESTORATION: Retouched flakes to ears.







Filled chip to rim of egg.
