Large English Majolica frog jug
Victorian, circa 1882. 11.8ins high, 7.9ins wide, 7.1ins depth. English Majolica jug/pitcher which features a frog seated on a lily pad.
Colouration: green, ochre, brown, are predominant.
English diamond registration mark for the date 14/11/1882.
Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to spout;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the lily pad;
glaze run to the green glazes;
tiny glaze pops to one eyelid.
RESTORATION: sections to spout reglued and joins retouched;
filled chip to leaf rim and one to under rim;
retouched flakes to leaf rim and right eyelid.
