Brownfield Majolica kittens vase with turquoise ground

Victorian, circa 1875. 10.6ins high, 11ins wide, 7.9ins depth.

Brownfield Majolica vase which features two kittens playing with a vase, stood on a blanket.



Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, cobalt blue, ochre, are predominant.











The piece bears maker's marks for the Brownfield pottery. Bears a pattern number, '109'. English diamond registration mark for the date 02/03/1875.






Condition

Good. Small flake to top base.



Minor flaking to vase border and darker kitten's paws.











Some wear and flaking to interior.





RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to side of urn and one to top of cobalt base.





Small filled chips to rim of urn and both ears of brown kitten and one ear of white kitten and to the base feet.
