Majolica Palissy lizards wall plate
Victorian, circa 1890. 3.1ins high, 8.7ins wide, 8.7ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features two lizards and a beetle.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition
CONDITION: Generally good. No restoration. Some flakes to lizard's leg, eyebrow, nose and ground.
Beetle missing two legs.
KILN EFFECTS: One lizard's tail tip not modelled;
over glazed shrinkage lines to the lizard's claws.
