Minton Majolica bird in nest tile

Victorian, circa 1870. 7.9ins high, 7.9ins wide, 0.6ins depth. Minton Majolica tile which features a bird in a nest. Colouration: lilac, brown, green, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 09/07/1870.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Flaking to leaves and border.













KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the border;





glaze miss to green leaf top left corner.



RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks across the top third of the piece.
