Victorian, circa 1875. 8.3ins high, 15.2ins wide, 7.8ins depth.

George Jones Majolica strawberry server which features blue tits pecking at strawberries on an overgrown trestle.



Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.









Bears a pattern number, '3425'. English diamond registration mark for the date 09/01/1875.

Condition

Generally good. Some small flakes to leaves.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to one leaf;



glaze run to the green and brown glazes.









RESTORATION: middle of top bar



and one bird reglued and joins retouched.





Remodelled part of bird's left leg and tips to both wings,







remodelled part of second bird's right leg and tip to both wings.







Filled chips and retouched flakes to rims,





leaves and flowers.
