George Jones Majolica hawthorn with blossom cake platter

Victorian, circa 1870. 12.8ins high, 12.8ins wide, 1.8ins depth. George Jones Majolica platter which features mottled green and brown centre, surrounded by hawthorn berries and blossom border.
Turquoise ground version. Colouration: green, dark pink, ochre, are predominant.



Bears a pattern number, '1856'.

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Some wear and scratches from use.













KILN EFFECTS: a speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the centre.
