Large Elias Majolica Palissy Sweet Chestnut wall plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 13.4ins high, 13.4ins wide, 2ins depth. Elias Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features sweet chestnuts in their outer shells. Colouration: green, blue, brown, are predominant.




The piece bears maker's marks for the Elias pottery.

Generally good.

Two small chips to the foot rim.



Some small flakes to the shredded clay.





KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front.



RESTORATION: filled chips and retouched flakes to leaves.
