Minton Majolica lily basket

Victorian, circa 1872. 5.5ins high, 6.7ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Minton Majolica basket which features pond lily leaves and flowers tied together with lily stems which form the handle.





Four flower bud feet. Colouration: green, turquoise, white, are predominant.





The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1603'. English diamond registration mark for the date 03/11/1870. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

CONDITION: Good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze;









touch mark to the handle.



RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim.





Retouched flakes to flowers.
