Small Majolica Palissy fish plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 4.1ins high, 4.1ins wide, 0.8ins depth.

French Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a fish surrounded by shells, a snail, butterfly and snake.



Colouration: blue, green, cream, are predominant.

Condition

Good. Slight wear to the high points of the molding.



KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to the front.





RESTORATION: Three filled and retouched chips, two to fish's underside and one to under rim.
