Victorian, circa 1870. 10.6ins high, 11.6ins wide, 11.6ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica cheese keep which features a fish handle with fish and foliage decoration to the sides.
Cobalt blue ground version.
Colouration: green, grey, cream, are predominant.

Generally good.
No restoration.
Two chips to rim, not visible when sat on base.
Possibly ground down glaze patches, so the piece sits well on stand.
Two shallow flakes to rim.
Flake to cobalt exterior.
Slight wear to raised fish pattern and cobalt ground.
KILN EFFECTS: two small touch marks to fin and eye of one of the larger fish;
slight cloudiness to the cobalt glaze;
a few glaze misses and touch marks to the to the rim.
Stand: Good.
Some wear to the front and reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: a couple of tiny glaze pops to the centre.
RESTORATION: Two large filled chipped sections to the outer rim.
