Holdcroft Majolica winged mermaid jardiniere

Victorian, circa 1870. 12.2ins high, 9.1ins wide, 9.1ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica jardinière which features
oval panels of perched birds, supported by three winged mermaids on a triangular base raised on three hoof feet.



Brown ground version. Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.











Bears a pattern number, '342'.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Tight hairline to one mermaid's waist.



Small flake to one mermaid's nose.



Some small flakes to leaves above feet.





KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the brown glaze.







RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairlines to interior.



5 wing tips reglued and join retouched.











Filled chips to rim.
