George Jones Majolica Rectangular Planter

Victorian, circa 1870. 5.7ins high, 13.1ins wide, 7.4ins depth.

George Jones Majolica planter which features spikey leaves to the sides, with bamboo legs and border.



Brown ground version. Colouration: green, pink, ochre, are predominant.







Bears a pattern number, '1784'.

Condition

Generally good. Hairline to base.





Some small flakes to leaves, rim and one foot.



















KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze;





glaze accumulation to the underside.



RESTORATION: section of one end and nearest foot reglued and joins retouched.





Filled chips to feet, bamboo border and one leg.









Stabilised and retouched cracks to rim and one leg.
