Holdcroft Majolica putti with fruiting garlands centrepiece bowl

Victorian, circa 1875. 8.3ins high, 19.7ins wide, 9.5ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica centrepiece bowl which features two putti carrying a large bowl with fruiting garlands.





Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. KILN EFFECTS: small firing hole and some firing pits to interior;







some glaze misses to both putti;









shrinkage crack to underside base edge;



flecks of stray coloured glaze to interior.





RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim.



Retouched flake to garland leaf and a small rim flake.





Retouched wear to rim and putti.
