French Palissy Majolica lobster, fish and eel planter

Victorian, circa 1890. 9.6ins high, 17.1ins wide, 10.6ins depth. Unidentified French Palissy Majolica planter
which features eel handles, fish, lobster, frog, shellfish and seaweed to the sides.



Colouration: blue, green, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Some small flakes to rim.










KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack between the feet.







RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks to bottom of inside and underside.





Three stabilised and retouched hairlines to sides.















Remodelled end of tail to one eel.





Filled chips and retouched flakes to end of eel,



the four fish on the rim,









shells,







and one leg to lobster.
