Wedgwood Fairyland lustre Pillar vase

Circa 1920. 13.75ins high. Large Fairyland Lustre vase decorated in the Pillar design (pattern number Z4968).

Exterior decorated with black lustre overlaid with mother of pearl lustre, Beowulf Bead border to the rim and Persian-Celtic border to the foot rim.

Interior decorated with mother of pearl lustre, digitate leaf edge with various elfish creatures riding on birds or butterflies to the rim.

'Portland Vase' backstamp and shape number 2409 to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration. Slight wear and a few light scratches to interior and exterior of rim.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

Very slight wear to exterior.

KILN EFFECTS: slight crazing.
