Staffordshire Duck tureen and cover

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 9.4ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Staffordshire egg tureen and cover which features a duck and her duckling, resting on a basketweave oval base.





White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good. No restoration. Small chip to the inner rim.



Small flake to the tail feathers.



Some rubbing to gilt.





Slight wear to wings.





KILN EFFECTS: faint, over glazed shrinkage lines to the duck's back.



Base: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.





Slight wear to the rim.





KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to the interior.
