Staffordshire Policeman pepperette figure
Victorian, circa 1880. 6.3ins high, 2.6ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Staffordshire pepper pot which features a policeman, stood on a circular base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside.
Book reference not found.
Condition
Good. No restoration.
Small flake to the top and side of his hat.
Rubbing to gilt.
Cork stopper is missing.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to his face;
piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse.
