Staffordshire leaping zebra & fox spill vase
Victorian, circa 1860. 8.3ins high, 7.1ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Staffordshire spill vase which features a zebra being chased by a fox leaping over a bridge, stood on a rectangular base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Condition
Good. No restoration.
Tight hairline to the spill rim.
Slight paint loss to ground.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
shrinkage crack to the fox's neck
and underside of zebra;
kiln grit caught in the glaze to the ground;
over glazed chip to the fox's right ear;
fleck of stray coloured glaze to the fox's body.
