Pair Staffordshire copper lustre spaniels

Early 20thC, circa 1920. Tallest is 10.6ins high, 7.7ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature spaniels, seated directly on the ground, no base. Copper lustre version.



Decorated mainly to the front.



Vent hole to the underside. Maker's marks to the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to the dog's nose.



Copper lustre has oxidized and turned green in places.





KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the dog's front right leg;



flecks of stray glaze to the front





and one to the reverse.



Left facing: Good. No restoration.

Paint loss to left paw.



Copper lustre has oxidized and turned green in places. More so than the other dog.







KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to dog's chest.
