Pair Staffordshire white&gilt spaniels

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 11.4ins high, 11.4ins wide, 4.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.





White and gilt version. Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.





Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the tail.



A few paint losses to muzzle.



Some rubbing to gilt.





Wear between the front paws and to chest.





KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to the reverse and left ear;







a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.







Left facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.





Wear to the reverse and tail.







KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the left front paw;



shrinkage line along the mold join to the right ear.
