Unusual Staffordshire parrot figure
Victorian, circa 1860. 9.8ins high, 2.8ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire figure which features a parrot, perched on a square base. Dull gilt base line.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside. Book reference not found.
Condition
Generally good.
Flake to ground next to right claw.
A few paint losses to ground.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the square base.
RESTORATION: Old restoration to crest,
top of head,
top of right wing
and top and side of left wing.
