Pair Staffordshire cow & sheep spill vases

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 7.1ins high, 5ins wide, 2.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire spill vases with a pastoral theme which feature a cow,
standing over a recumbent sheep, stood on an oval base.



Russet and white version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.



Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.



Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.

Shallow chips to underside.





A few paint losses to russet markings.





Some rubbing to gilt to spill rim.



KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the reverse of cow's nose and her left eyebrow;



over glazed shrinkage lines to the cow's face and neck.
